Witness No. 50

Name : Ms Joginder Kaur

Age : 45 Years

Occupation : Serivce

Address : C-19, DDA flats, Ghari, New Delhi

On SA

I had filed an affidavit before this Commission. It is shown to me. It bears my signature. The affidavit is taken on record and marked as Exhibit No.50/1. In addition to what I have stated in my affidavit I say that in the Gali where I was staying there were about 30 to 35 Sikh families. In the adjoining Gali there were about 10 to 12 Sikh families. In my lane in all about 20 to 25 sardars were killed.

Some of them were minor children. One Sikh family of Than Singh was completely wiped out. Only one female child aged about 7 years was saved. About 5000 to 6000 Sikhs were in the Gurdwara Nanaksar Camp. Police had not come to the camp to record my statement. Some school boys used to come in the camp and render help to us and they had also recorded our statements regarding loss suffered by us. While I was in the camp Rs.10,000/- was received by me as compensation from the Government.

Cross examination by S.S. Gandhi, Sr. Advocate on behalf of Delhi Police

I had not filed any affidavit earlier. No policemen had come to record my statement. I was not called as witness in any court. I had not gone to the police station on my own but I had gone to the police station along with the people of Nanaksar Gurdwara and a complaint was lodged through them. I do not know whether any offence was registered on the basis of my complaint or not.

No Cross examination by K.K. Sud, ASG on behalf of Central Government

Read over and found correct.
