1984 Delhi Sikh Genocide - Statements

1984 Statements

Statement submitted before the Nanavati Commission

Witness No. 13

Name : Bua Singh, S/o Bela Singh

Age : 70 Years

Occupation : Retired

Address : 778/M, Baba Faridpuri, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi.

On SA

I had filed an affidavit before Mr Justice Ranganath Mishra Commission. A copy of that affidavit is shown to me and it is the correct copy of the affidavit (the affidavit is taken on record and marked as exhibit No. W13/1). My affidavit may be treated as my examination-in-chief. I further say that, I have nothing to add to what I have stated in my affidavit.

Cross examination by S.S. Gandhi, Sr. Advocate, on behalf of Delhi Police

It is correct that a crowd of about 1000 persons has started ransacking the area where I am staying at 11.30 am on 1st November, 1984. The crowd has looted articles from my house. I had complained to the police about the damage caused to the household property. I do not know whether police had registered an offence on the basis of that.

Police had not come to me. Other vehicles on the road were also damaged by the mob. I do not know if the police had registered any offence with respect to the damage caused to the properties by the mob in our area. I had telephoned to the Police Officer in charge of Patel Nagar Police Station but no body had attended it.

Read over and found correct.
