I, Tehmi Devi D/o Haru Singh 30 years, R/o H.No. 32/88, Trilokpuri, Delhi, do hereby solemnly affirm and state on oath as under :-
1. On 1-11-1984 in the morning the riots started in our colony and I saw that a mob consisting of people from our colony and other places including jamadars and gujjars was coming towards our house. They had lathis, iron rods, and stones in their hands. Our neighbouring people gathered in front of the Gurdwara. In the mean time two or three policeman came and they told us that there was nothing to fear and we should go back to our houses. We accepted policeman's advice and went back to our homes. Then the policeman gave a signal to the mob to attack us. The mob dragged out a few persons turn-by-turn beat them with sticks and burnt them after pouring oil on them. Then they burnt the Gurdwara also.
2. In the evening Kishori Lal resident of Block No 31 came and enquired threatening us as to where I had hidden my husband. He asked me to bring him out. I told him that he might be lying dead somewhere.
3. At the same night sweepers of our colony and from and colonies came there. Out of them there was one person namely Romesh whom I did know. They started flashing torches on the women who were sitting in a park. They took away those women to empty house by force.
I was also forcibly taken to one such houses. I begged before them and requested them to leave me as I was a married woman with children. But they did not listen to me and said that if I made any noise they would kill me. Then they tore off all three of my clothes and stabbed me on my leg. They snatched away my golden earning and my wrist watch. Then I covered myself with a bad sheet and came to my house before the sunrise.
4. In the next morning (Nov 2, 1984) I saw that my husband was hiding himself in the neighbour's house. I requested the policemen with folded hands to send us to some safe place. There were told 4-5 policemen who said that there was no risk now. They told us that we can go with our family and nothing would happen to our mobs. Along with my husband, 4-5 other persons were also hiding. They were not allowed to accompanying us. I went to Chilla Gaon along with my children.
5. There the gujjars did not allow us to take shelter. From there we reached Kalyanpuri Police Station. There were many other women of our colony. Then we were sent to Farash Bazar police Station.
6. On 3rd November a large number of dead bodies were removed in trucks. My husband was still breathing. Seeing that, army men took him out and sent him to a hospital. There no body looked after him and he some how managed to escape in a bad condition.
On the way a Sardar met him and gave him a lift on his cycle to reach upto Tilak Nagar Gurdwara. There he was treated privately for eleven days and he slightly cured. After wards some Sardar Bhai brought my husband to the camps of Farash Bazar Police Station.
7. Now, my husband is unable to do any work due to the fact that he was severely wounded. We are still living in the camps of Farash Police Station.
