1984 Delhi Sikh Genocide - Affidavits

Affidavit submitted before the Misra Commission

I, Satkartar Singh, aged about 47 years, s/o late Hukam Singh, r/o 19-A, Extension II, Ram Nagar, Delhi-110051, do hereby on solemn affirmation state and declare as under: -

1. I say that I am General Attorney of Sabinder Kaur w/o Late S. Santokh Singh, presently resident of Singapore. I am filing this affidavit on her instructions before this Commission.

2. I say that late S. Santokh Singh was resident of I-131-A, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi and he was Head Granthi of Gurdwara Jheel, Delhi-31.

3. That on 3-11-84, the said S. Santokh Singh was burnt alive by 44 Non-Sikhs just outside the Gurdwara Jheel. An FIR No.322 dated 3-11-84, was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Delhi which contains the names and addresses of all these 44 persons who are culprits of this murder. However, they are not deliberately charged for offence under section 302 IPC. No prosecution to my knowledge, for offence for murder under section 302 IPC is launched against them.

4. That the rioters damaged the Gurdwara Jheel, took away the articles and burnt some property.
