1984 Delhi Sikh Genocide - Affidavits

Affidavit submitted before the Nanavati Commission

I, Rajesh Kumar S/o Paras Ram R/o A-3/74, Motia Bagh, Rly Colony, Delhi, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:-

1. That on 3rd Nov.'84, I happened to come back from my native town. At about 3 pm I found some unruly mob attacking S. Manmohan Singh in front of his shop located in front of New Delhi Rly. Station. Though I felt pity on the condition of S. Manmohan Singh however due to the fear of mob I did not intervene in any manner and waited till the crowd thinned. After 15 – 20 minutes the mob left the spot leaving S. Manmohan Singh lying in a semi conscious state. I called an auto rickshaw and helped Mr. Manmohan Singh into that and took him to his residence. Though Mr. Manmohan Singh was in a very serious condition yet he was able to inform me about his residential address.

2. That when I reached at the residence of Mr. Manmohan Singh his wife and children were waiting for his safe return. When the family members of Mr. Manmohan Singh saw me they were very amazed and treated me as a "Semi God". After about a week later I again visited the residence of Mr. Manmohan Singh just to inquire about his health. I was shocked to I learn that Mr. Manmohan Singh had passed away. I maintained personal contact with the family of Mr. Manmohan Singh and visited them often.
