1984 Affidavits

Affidavit submitted before the Misra Commission

I, Madan Mohan s/o Jagan Nath aged 40 years, r/o Quarter No.616, Nimri Colony, near Ashok Vihar, Delhi-52, do hereby solemnly state on oath as under: -

1. At about 9 AM, I was at my home and lot of noise was coming. On peeping through my window I found that from the right side of my house a mob comprising of about 700 to 800 persons coming from the Gurdwara side. They were having iron rods, lathis, tins of petrol and tins containing some white powder.

2. They started brick batting. Their aim was H.No.617 bus as my house was on the upper side, the glass panes of my house also got broken. I say that they broke open the doors of No.617 and forced their entry into it. They set the house on fire and looted whatever they could before setting the house ablaze.

3. Then the mob set on fire their scooter and car parked outside. Then they ran away. And there were two policemen around and they had revolver with them.
