I, Jasbir Kaur wife of S. Jaswant Singh aged 55 years resident of RZ-55B, Pratap Garden, Binda Pura Village, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi. Presently residing at C/o S. Sohan Singh Scooterwala, Gali No.4, Guru Nanak Gali, Shahpura do hereby solemnly state on oath as under: -
1. On October 31, 1984, when we came to know about the death of our Prime Minister, we were highly grieved.
2. On 1.11.1984, both my sons left for their work at 7 am. First, my younger son and then elder son proceeded for their place of work. At about 10 – 11 am when I was watching TV at my neighbour's house, I came to know that the shops belonging to Sikhs were being looted and burnt on Nangal side.
I went to my son's shop and narrated then the whole thing. After some time both my sons and the workers came to our house. After taking meals one of the servant remained with us and the rest left for their houses.
3. Our house was attacked in the evening. But the neighbours saved us and our house and returned the mob from the corner. On 2.11.84 also they helped us. We came to know from the villagers that our sewing cum embroidery shop situated in Bindapur, owned by Ram Kumar had been looted by the mob.
4. On 3.11.84 at about 3 – 4 am, when we were in our neighbour's house, some men came to search our house. My sons had got their hair cut on 2.11.1984. Therefore, those men could not recognize them. After conducting search, they went away after cautioning the neighbours not to harbour Sikhs.
5. Somebody told me that even those Sikhs who had got their hair cut are also being killed and therefore we should leave our house. My son left the house from Matiala side.
6. On 4.11.1984, I, along with some neighbours and military men searched for my son. Afterwards I came to know that somebody had killed my son near Matiala.
7. I suffered a loss of Rs.80,000/- / 90,000/- on account of my shop.
