Affidavit submitted before the Misra Commission

Affidavit of Hari Singh S/o Jindoo Singh, aged 23 years, resident of Block No.11. House No. 395, Kalyanpuri, Delhi-110091.

I, Hari Singh son of Jindoo Singh solemnly affirm as under:-

1. That I live in the Block 11 in Kalyanpuri. Nearly two weeks ago, my cousins Aloo Singh (son of my mother's sister Ram Piaro) and Pat Singh (son of my mother's brother) took me to Shahdara on a pretext of showing me a picture. There they took me to Shahdara Court. A policeman who was not in uniform, met us there. I know him very well as he was in our area during November riots and he had fired on us.

2. That the policeman brought a bottle of wine and served us in a hotel outside the court. While I was intoxicated, he made me sign some papers. I do not know what those papers were nor do I know what was written on them.

3. That later on Aloo Singh told me that your signatures were obtained to give evidence in the court. We know this policeman very well, therefore, you have to bear witness that this policeman has helped us.

4. That later on I was told by S.Sobha Singh, the President of our block that these signature must have been taken in connection with the enquiry into riots. This shocked me very much since I know very well that this policemen fired on us during riots. Some other policemen and SHO were also with him at the time of fire on us. They did not control the people indulging in riots and violence and incited them to set our houses on fire.

5. I fear that in case I am not willing to give evidence the policeman may induce the police station to involve me in a false case.
