Affidavit submitted before the Misra Commission

Affidavit of Bua Singh s/o Bela Singh aged 55 years, r/o 778-M, Baba Faribpuri, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi. Presently residing at House No.T-29D, Baljit Nagar, New Delhi-8.

I, the deponent above-named do hereby solemnly state on oath as under: -

Rajinder Kumar Shukla and Dharam Dass Shastri came in a white car and ordered Rajinder Kumar to gather more persons and kill all Sikhs in the colony and burnt their houses. Daram Dass Shastri remained there for fifteen minutes and then went away to some other place. Rajinder Shukla managed to collect many persons in about half an hour. After collecting men he attacked our colony.

About 1000 persons attacked my house. They brick-batted intensively. We escaped into our godown and in our absence those people looted our house. They pushed my Mercedez Truck No.DLG-4963 towards road demolishing the wall of Ramjas ground. They took out diesel from the truck, sprinkled diesel on my truck and set it ablaze. This incident occurred on Nov.1, 1984 at about 12 noon.

My brother S. Dayal Singh got injured because of being hit by stones. The police did not take any action. When we telephoned the police and they told us that we should make our own arrangement and that they cannot help us at all. Military came on the evening of 3.11.84 and till then we remained in the godown. We heaved a sigh of relief when the military came. Even now, the hoodlums who indulged in pelting stones are intimidating us. These people are from our locality.

My brother Subedar Santokh Singh who is employed with the Punjab & Sind Bank became injured this day. The mob was raising slogans, "Khoon Ka Badla Khoon Se Lengey." I suffered a loss of Rs. 1,75,000/-.
