Witness against former chairman of Delhi Rural Development Board and senior member of Indian National Congress party – Sajjan Kumar, who led mob that killed Sikhs during "1984 Sikh Genocide"

Gurcharan Singh Rishi was bedridden for the last twenty four years. He was thrown into a burning truck by the crowd during the "1984 Sikh Genocide".

He saw Sajjan Kumar leading a 1,500 strong crowd to "kill" Sikhs in the national capital's Newada locality on November 1, 1984.

He heard Sajjan Kumar telling the miscreants that "Is mohalle ka ek bhi sardar zinda nahin bachna chahiye. In kutton ko saza deni hai (Not even a single Sikh here must escape alive. These dogs must be punished)".

In response to the appeal and assurance from Akal Takht Jathedar Gyani Joginder Singh Vedanti, he was ready to testify against Sajjan Kumar for his involvement in "1984 Sikh Genocide".

On March 12, 2008, Gurcharan Singh Rishi gave his statement to the CBI official Jatinder Prasad.

On February 17, 2009, Gurcharan Singh Rishi breathed his last, two days before he was to appear before the Delhi High Court for his statement against Congress MP Sajjan Kumar.
